Gone

Baby Allegra passed away at 6 this morning.

She struggled with severe congestion all night making it impossible for her to eat or sleep. I spent the night holding and comforting her.  After sitting outside to watch the sky lighten and hear the birds chirp, we walked inside and she died in my arms.

Her tiny, sweet spirit changed us as we worked to make her quick life a happy one.  She is already missed.

We will post funeral arrangements here at the beginning of the week.

  11. Such profound sadness and gratitude at this moment. I am forever grateful for the chance I had to hold her Wednesday. After seeing with my own eyes how hard she was working for each breath and how absolutely tiny her physical body was, it gave me even more appreciation for the miracle that she held on as long as she did. Busted, love you forever, sweet Allegra!

  25. Pulleys, We are so, so sorry for your loss. We will never forget the journey you all shared with us through this blog. Nothing is more painful than this; I ache with you. I know she lives on and that your reunion will be sweet someday. This trial we have witnessed is truly what the Gospel is about. Families; Heavenly Father entrusting his spirits to the right families; the purpose of life; trials so hard we think we cannot endure yet somehow we do through our Savior's atonement; and eternity with our families. We love you. Julie & Patrick Stevenson

  40. Ali, Mitch, and family - We are in Hawaii right now, but Jessica called to share this sad news with us. I'm not sure why my heart hurts so much for the loss of a little girl I never even got to meet, but I definitely feel such sadness and loss for all of you right now. Through it all, though I am so grateful that God allowed you to have her for 4 wonderful weeks. I love a thought someone shared with Katie after she lost her baby - "The best way to feel Heaven in your home is to have someone from your home in Heaven". I know that Allegra will be aware of all of you as you go forward and she will be anxiously awaiting that promised glorious reunion. Meanwhile - my prayers and love are with all of you. Thank you for sharing your precious daughter's remarkable journey. She (and your entire family) has touched and inspired so many of us.

  48. What a wonderful blessing her life has been and will continue to be in your lives. Thank God for His wonderful promise and gift to us to be with Him and Allegra in heaven.

I too lost a sweet baby girl to Trisomy 18. She passed away during delivery. Not a day goes by I don't think about how much I love her and how blessed I am to know Christ and be able to spend eternity with her. We spend a lot more time dead than we do alive, however I know that desire to be with her again immediately. Pray for patience and peace. We will not truly understand the reasonings, but as time goes on you will start to see answers from God if you stay close to Him.

Praise God for the wonderful gifts He has blessed us with.

Blessings to you and your family.

    -Craig
